Day 1 @ BKK

I am finally here to blog about my 4D3N Bangkok trip!! After procrastinating and all hahaha. Blogging is a good way to track what I did in life and also look back in the future and reminisce. Did not want to blog actually because I am currently watching Secret Circle hehe but there's this bugging feeling so yeah decided to do a entry on Day 1 @ Bangkok. Will split the trip into 4 different entries I think, a day a entry starting with Day 1!

Will list down a few things to take note of when shopping, travelling or eating at Bangkok at the end of this post! If you're interested please take awhile to read. For girls, you know most people said Platinum mall sells cheap and nice clothes right?? It's not really true! Argh we wasted so much time at that mall. We found another better place! More details below.

The last time I took a plane was 14, to Taipei. It's been roughly 5 years since I board a plane so I was quite excited and a little nervous thus I did not sleep a wink at all the night before haha. Oh and Mum said she's planning to bring us to Hokkaido end of this year, hope it comes true because I really love travelling!!

In the plane~ And of course I got the window seat hehe :)

Second sis.

All of us, with Genevieve fast asleep beside my Mum I think. It's only all of us ladies, without my Dad haha.

After 2hrs in the plane... We reached Bangkok!!!

Their BTS coin/ticket or MRT in Sg.

In the train with my dearest bestfriend.

We stayed at Baiyoke Sky Hotel, tallest building in Thailand. The hotel kept emphasizing this lol. Got a FREE upgrade to Suite, Sis said because we checked-in on a Weekday or they just had extra rooms available. Our rooms were at the 50th floor, view was awesome!!! LUCKY US.

Spot Platinum Mall. Anyway just a note, apparently Pratunam refers to their Morning/Night markets which I did not know until I went Bkk.

We starved on our first day already hahaha weird right? Not on purpose though. A lot of time went to travelling and queuing up for SIM cards zzzz. Headed straight for Platinum's food court for lunch + dinner. SUPER CHEAP I TELL YOU!!! Other than Mango Sticky Rice : 100baht = S$4.

*MUST TRY*
I personally don't like Malay and Indian food. Their food just don't suit my taste... I prefer Chinese, Italian or Western, NOT BEING RACIST! So I find it a little hard to buy food in Bkk but I still found something I like, which is this!!! Damn yummy please try. But I tried the rice together with the mango.., a bit weird haha. Different preference! I just prefer to eat it separately. Ok a little too wordy here, moving on!

Seafood Padthai.
I don't like the taste haha. 35-45baht = S$1.40 - S$1.80.

Quail eggs with Soya sauce! 35baht = S$1.40

Cool Crepe. That's the name!
Bought the wrong type of Crepe though, this doesn't taste good at all. They have another one, Crispy Crepe.

After eating we spent the rest of our time shopping at Platinum. We were quite disappointed because it's not really that cheap(though still cheaper than Sg!) and the clothes style are not like Singapore ones.

Night view from the Hotel. Raining heavily outside!

Ordered Room Service because it was raining and we were all too lazy to move hahaha. Quite affordable I had say. Spent a total of $40++ on 4 main courses and 1 side dish, paid by Mum :)

Pasta for me!!!!

End of Day 1!
Is it short?? Haha.

Anyway, here's some extra information & tips!
1) We bought our SIM cards at 299baht = S$12 at Suvarnabhumi Airport(Bkk airport) for 7 days, unlimited 3G, 100baht worth of calls(I'd more than enough for 4 days). It's a package btw.

2) Cabs are very cheap. The places we went took roughly 10-30mins(if there's a jam), cost 150baht (S$6) at most and 100baht the least, which is S$4!!! So if you're in a group of 4-5, take the cab. They allow squeezing of 5 people!! More worth than train if you do your calculations. Oh and we refuse to go by the meter too because of the frequent jams in Bkk, so we will quote a price with the driver beforehand always. Tuk-tuk charges just a little more, but you can take for the thrill :)

3) Platinum Mall opens from 10am - 7pm. They close super early. Go Night markets!

4) SIAM NIGHT MARKETS are definitely a better choice to shop at than Platinum Mall!! More cheaper, closer to clothes on Blogshops or Singaporean style HAHA, more choices and can bargain better! Also, all of us prefer Siam night markets among all the markets we went.

5) Try their Massages! Especially foot massage, S$8/hr. Best after a whole day of shopping :)

More information & tips on Day 2's entry next time!
