Day 1 @ BKK

I am finally here to blog about my 4D3N Bangkok trip!! After procrastinating and all hahaha. Blogging is a good way to track what I did in life and also look back in the future and reminisce. Did not want to blog actually because I am currently watching Secret Circle hehe but there's this bugging feeling so yeah decided to do a entry on Day 1 @ Bangkok. Will split the trip into 4 different entries I think, a day a entry starting with Day 1!

Will list down a few things to take note of when shopping, travelling or eating at Bangkok at the end of this post! If you're interested please take awhile to read. For girls, you know most people said Platinum mall sells cheap and nice clothes right?? It's not really true! Argh we wasted so much time at that mall. We found another better place! More details below.

The last time I took a plane was 14, to Taipei. It's been roughly 5 years since I board a plane so I was quite excited and a little nervous thus I did not sleep a wink at all the night before haha. Oh and Mum said she's planning to bring us to Hokkaido end of this year, hope it comes true because I really love travelling!!

In the plane~ And of course I got the window seat hehe :)

Second sis.

All of us, with Genevieve fast asleep beside my Mum I think. It's only all of us ladies, without my Dad haha.

After 2hrs in the plane... We reached Bangkok!!!

Their BTS coin/ticket or MRT in Sg.

In the train with my dearest bestfriend.

We stayed at Baiyoke Sky Hotel, tallest building in Thailand. The hotel kept emphasizing this lol. Got a FREE upgrade to Suite, Sis said because we checked-in on a Weekday or they just had extra rooms available. Our rooms were at the 50th floor, view was awesome!!! LUCKY US.

Spot Platinum Mall. Anyway just a note, apparently Pratunam refers to their Morning/Night markets which I did not know until I went Bkk.

We starved on our first day already hahaha weird right? Not on purpose though. A lot of time went to travelling and queuing up for SIM cards zzzz. Headed straight for Platinum's food court for lunch + dinner. SUPER CHEAP I TELL YOU!!! Other than Mango Sticky Rice : 100baht = S$4.

*MUST TRY*
I personally don't like Malay and Indian food. Their food just don't suit my taste... I prefer Chinese, Italian or Western, NOT BEING RACIST! So I find it a little hard to buy food in Bkk but I still found something I like, which is this!!! Damn yummy please try. But I tried the rice together with the mango.., a bit weird haha. Different preference! I just prefer to eat it separately. Ok a little too wordy here, moving on!

Seafood Padthai.
I don't like the taste haha. 35-45baht = S$1.40 - S$1.80.

Quail eggs with Soya sauce! 35baht = S$1.40

Cool Crepe. That's the name!
Bought the wrong type of Crepe though, this doesn't taste good at all. They have another one, Crispy Crepe.

After eating we spent the rest of our time shopping at Platinum. We were quite disappointed because it's not really that cheap(though still cheaper than Sg!) and the clothes style are not like Singapore ones.

Night view from the Hotel. Raining heavily outside!

Ordered Room Service because it was raining and we were all too lazy to move hahaha. Quite affordable I had say. Spent a total of $40++ on 4 main courses and 1 side dish, paid by Mum :)

Pasta for me!!!!

End of Day 1!
Is it short?? Haha.

Anyway, here's some extra information & tips!
1) We bought our SIM cards at 299baht = S$12 at Suvarnabhumi Airport(Bkk airport) for 7 days, unlimited 3G, 100baht worth of calls(I'd more than enough for 4 days). It's a package btw.

2) Cabs are very cheap. The places we went took roughly 10-30mins(if there's a jam), cost 150baht (S$6) at most and 100baht the least, which is S$4!!! So if you're in a group of 4-5, take the cab. They allow squeezing of 5 people!! More worth than train if you do your calculations. Oh and we refuse to go by the meter too because of the frequent jams in Bkk, so we will quote a price with the driver beforehand always. Tuk-tuk charges just a little more, but you can take for the thrill :)

3) Platinum Mall opens from 10am - 7pm. They close super early. Go Night markets!

4) SIAM NIGHT MARKETS are definitely a better choice to shop at than Platinum Mall!! More cheaper, closer to clothes on Blogshops or Singaporean style HAHA, more choices and can bargain better! Also, all of us prefer Siam night markets among all the markets we went.

5) Try their Massages! Especially foot massage, S$8/hr. Best after a whole day of shopping :)

More information & tips on Day 2's entry next time!

29th July 2013

Hi... If I have any readers at all which I think are mostly my friends, I am sorry for always letting you guys read boring short posts that are just filled with words and nothing interesting. I really wanted to blog about the Bangkok trip today!! But I went out and you know laziness got the better of me hehe after I reached home. It's 3am already!

Heading out later again to catch 'Mortal Instruments: City of Bones' but I will be home early! So maybe a post later tonight, I don't know haha. I am always very slow when it comes to updating, no matter it's Insta, Twitter, Facebook or Blog hahaha so just get use to it yeah :)

Updates

HI GUYS I AM BACK FROM BANGKOK!!!

Very fast right?!?? ): My sister had school and Mum couldn't take more leave so yeah.. a 4D3N trip. Firstly, NO I am not going to blog about Bkk YET hahaha. Too tired already and I have not organize the photos!

Although it was a short trip, we went to quite a few places, editing our self-made Itinerary at the same time HAHA. We went Pratunam(or Platinum), Chatuchak, Siam Center & Paragon, MBK, Chinatown and Morning & Night markets. We took their MRT(it's called BTS in Bkk), Taxi and Tuk-tuk too. We ate at the food courts, cafes, room service and some street food too.

There're many other things we did too, later then tell you all ok. Meanwhile, if you are going Bkk soon or have anything about Bkk you want to know you can ask me on Ask.fm! (It's pretty dead btw hahaha) Not that I already know Bkk very well but I will try to help or I can ask my Sis because she knows more than me.

Alright that's all! Till then Xx.

Flying off

In a rush but still a short entry first because I think I will be home late tonight and I really want to do one last entry before leaving Sg. Oh I haven't even pack my luggage yet!!!

Anyway, my Eldest sis created an itinerary for this trip!! Includes shopping duh hahaha, mani/pedi, massage(I will just try foot maybe), swimming and EATING!!! Can't wait to visit their very famous cafe for desserts! I think many of people will know what cafe this is, called After You. Saw on Insta a lot of people raved about their Lava Cake and Mudpie so I definitely have to try too!!

Hopefully, if I have time I will upload tons of photos on my Instagram if there's wifi available which I think there will be so do check it out ok!! Or maybe we'll buy data simcard too haha. I will TRY to post interesting photos, not sure what then is consider interesting but anyway if it's nice I will just post! I don't always post photos so this time I am planning to SPAMMMMMMM my Instagram, if possible :)

YAY can't wait!!!

Celebrations

Wheeee so last Thursday was my Eldest Sister's Birthday! Why am I so happy?? Because if you don't already know, my Family celebrates ALL SORTS of occasion by FEASTING!!! Hahahaah anyway Happy Birthday Jolene :)) Please ignore my retard happy looking face haha.

My family(plus grandparents & aunt) went Sakura Internation Buffet! Visited this place numerous time in the past and the quality of food just went down down down.... BUT, it was different this time round! Surprisingly, the food was quite nice this time round?? Plus the price was cheap too... Or reasonable haha whatever.

I normally don't go for the usual food. Like carbs, meat or seafood which you can eat outside but this time round I decided to just try a little.. It turned out fine :) Though the fried egg was a tad too oily for me.

I just randomly took photos of what my Family eat haha. Chawanmushi!

Beeeeeeeef.

Chicken wings were so crispy!! The Tempura was full of flour, prawn was dry, as usual haha.

Can't remember the taste of these prawns... But I think it was alright.

Grandpa's favourite Laksa.

Chicken chop.

They changed the plates for Sushi! Now they have their own unique plates lol. Hmm Sushi was fine, actually it got better other than the Salmon Mentai one. Mentai tasted a little weird.. Overall, it's nice! But I did not finish all of course, wasted quite a bit of rice hehe. It's buffet what!! Don't wanna waste my stomach space on carbs like PLAIN RICE.

DURIAN PUFFS!!! Oh gosh, forever loving their desserts. Sakura serves BETTER DESSERTS than Buffet Town, seriously.

Yikes I really love their Mocha puff and Cheesecake too!! Avoid the Oreo Cheesecake though, tasted more like Oreo Cream to me HAHA.

Brownies~ Served WARM.

Did I mentioned that they have BEN & JERRY'S TOO?!??

The Brownies + B&J's goes together super well!!!!!! Love this combination YUMS.

About a week later on the actual birthday, we went Sakae Sushi for yet another round of feasting!!!

Happy Sis.

Grabbed all the photos from my two sisters because I was feeling lazy to take photos of the food.

Salmon Mentaiyaki - $14.90
Sushi Tei still serves the BEST Salmon Mentai plus it's cheaper! The portion and quality is so much better than Sakae's.

That's all for Sakae hahaha. They did not take a lot of photos too.

Birthday cake :)

Day out with bestie

Met up with Genevieve earlier this afternoon. Watched RED 2, shopped @ JEM and JCube a little, had dinner at Ambush, Coffee Bean, then a long walk to IMM and back to CCK to continue our chat and I reached home at midnight. Feeling super tired now after talking so much HAHAHA. We're trying to watch movies more frequently now because the Weekday student tix price is very cheap!!! Like $6.50 only?!! Nearly half the normal amount haha. YAY holiday rocks!

The Pastas at Ambush seriously sucks. PLEASE DO NOT EVEN TRY THEM. Though you may give Squid Ink Pasta a try if you want since not many restaurants sell it haha. But the Main Courses looked damn good?? Saw from the people around us and we immediately regretted not ordering them. But it's ok! Once bitten twice shy, no more Pasta next time from Ambush.

Vongole White Wine Sauce w/ Clams - $12.80

Cream Sauce Pasta w/ Bacon & Ham  - $12.50
Totally lacking the Cream sauce... It's more like a Mushroom sauce. The ratio of Bacon to Ham is probably like 2 : 8. Bacon's that little. Plus the Garlic.. too much.

Decided to have cakes at Coffee Bean after dinner, BAD BAD CHOICE. Not because the cake's not nice, but because we were too full hahaha. Praline Cheesecake, quite yummy! Taste a little of Hazelnut.

Have a great weekend everyone~

Stayover @ Granny's house

After church on Sunday I rushed home to shower and pack my stuffs then headed to Vivo to meet my Grandparents and Aunt. They were late, as usual haha. Granny came first and I was starving because I only had breakfast and it was 5+ pm already so we ordered a little first!

Selfies to start the entry! Taken at Granny's house afterwards.

We had Marche for dinner :)
I was happy & excited at the same time because it was my first time trying Marche and oh I am definitely going back again for their Rosti and Sweet Crepes!!!

Mushroom soup - $5.90
They serve Salmon Cheddar soup too! Sounds yummy

Chicken & Vegetables Pasta - $14.90

*MUST TRY*
Original Rosti - $6.20
Can't wait to eat this again the next time I visit Marche hahaha. Love the Sour cream!!

Mixed plate?? - $5.90
Stack as much food as you can on a plate!

Salmon Rosti
Not sure of the price because my Aunt ordered this. Probably $14-16+?

Sirloin steak w/ Sausage & Baked Potato
No idea of the price again but it's expensive for sure! Don't really like this dish though... A little too hard and dry.

*MUST TRY*
Chocolate Hazelnut Crepes w/ Tiramisu Ice-cream - $13+ in total
My favourite among all the food we ordered! I really LOVE the Tiramisu Ice-cream($5+/scoop)

Aston's for dinner the next day!

Currently basking in happiness and enjoying my holidays~~

Till then Xx.
