Japanese Food

I am so excited to blog this entry!!!! Like the title said, it's about JAPANESE FOOD OM NOM NOM. I was looking through my photo album last night and spotted a lot of Japanese food photos so I decided to consolidate all and make them into a post. Within a span of four weeks, I had Japanese food FIVE times. Is that consider horrible? I think it's alright hahaha. Neglected my all-time favorite food.... PASTA. Now I am craving for some Carbonara. Gonna get my craving fix this Friday!

I suggest you guys not to read this entry with an empty stomach *winks*

Japanese Food: Sushi Tei

Second time eating Sushi Tei :)
I actually ate before when I was younger but I can't remember the taste and all. Blogged about my "first time" at Sushi Tei a few entries back!

Golden roll - $16

Totally love stuffing this whole sushi into my mouth and tasting the different flavors all together. Mango, Prawn, Roe mmmm yums. Though I also love separating all the ingredients and eat them individually haha.  Love how the mango goes so well with the sushi and also the prawn was breaded/fried in the way I like! Not too much flour was used and notice the skin's crispy and golden brown :)

Ika Sugata Teri (Squid with Teriyaki Sauce) - $9
The meat's a bit on the hard side. I feel that it's pretty normal? Not much to expect but it's fine.

Salmon Mentai Yaki - $12
My FAVORITE from Sushi Tei!! *MUST TRY*
From the first time I tried this, I knew that I will be ordering this dish EVERYTIME I visit ST in the future. Love how thick a slice they cut! Very very juicy too yums. It's that good. *Thumbs up*

Remember to squeeze the lemon if you ever order this!

Blurred shot because I was so excited to eat haha.

Salmon Sashimi - $8
I don't eat raw food but from this photo I guess it's very yummy?? My Mum love this and she said the quality's really good!

Tamago Sushi - $2.20
No need to say, the quality is good of course. I can literally taste every grain of rice individually and the seaweed was thin and soft, easy to bite into half for girls who don't stuff the whole sushi into the mouth lol.

Hotate Miso Mayonnaise - $9.80++
Super disappointed in this dish, I feel that it's totally not worth the price. The portion was pretty small for a price like that, the sauce was kinda weird too like some garlic mixed with starch? The $1.50++ scallops from Sushi Express is way nicer than this, hands down the best and cheapest scallops I have ever eaten.

Pork Katsu Curry Rice - $13.50
If you're looking for a dish that won't burn a hole in your wallet, is filling and delicious at the same time then this is the dish you are looking for! Huge and crispy cutlet with a generous amount of curry filled with potatoes and accompanied by Japanese rice, mmmm YUMS!!!! *Thumbs up*

The potatoes are hidden because they are drowning in the huge amount of curry hahaha.

Salmon Sushi with Cavier - $6.90
I randomly named this because I can't remember the exact name hahaha. Can't "judge" this dish because again I don't eat raw food but my Mum really LOVES this. It's the kind of dish where she will order every time we visit Sushi Tei :)

The total bill amount to $78 w/o gst. I think it's worth the price given such good quality and reasonable to huge portion of food, other than the Scallops which totally did not met my expectations.

Japanese Food: Sushi Express

In case you don't know, the pricing for Sushi Express is $1.50++ for ALL plates.
My second time eating Sushi Express, really LOVE the Scallops, Flamed Salmon sushi, Unagi and their Ice-cream balls!!

Nothing much to complain about since the price's already so cheap but just one small little comment, I don't really like the seaweed that is used to wrap the sushi. It's a little hard to chewy or bite into half (For normal sushi like this I don't stuff the entire thing into my mouth).

Tamago sushi was good!

This is the Ice-cream balls I was talking about!!! But when you take the plate, don't consume it immediately as it's still quite frozen and hard inside. Wait awhile and let it melt a little first :)

SCALLOPS *MUST TRY*
Not appealing but SUPER YUMMY scallops. The roe..... omg damn good. It's pretty big in size!

Sorry about the shadow cast from my phone haha.

Blueberry Cheesecake. Try this if you love cakes! Have the Japanese cake feel hahaha.

You will get addicted in taking the plates off the conveyor belt as everything's at $1.50 and there's quite a variety too. But don't expect high quality or very yummy food like those in Sushi Tei!
WITH THE EXCEPTION OF: SCALLOPS, FLAMED SALMON SUSHI, TAMAGO SUSHI, ICE-CREAM BALLS, CHEESECAKE.

Japanese Food: Sakae Sushi

If I am not wrong, this is my FIRST time eating at Sakae Sushi in my life. I guess maybe because my neighborhood shopping mall have Sakae Sushi so I don't bother trying at all since I can eat it anytime I want.

Fried Salmon Skin - $4.29
Dad told me very few Japanese restaurants sell Salmon skin so he immediately ordered this when he saw it on the menu. It's damn crispy!!!! *MUST TRY*

Cheese Maki with Prawn - $4.29
Love the cheese! But I don't like the way the prawn was breaded/fried. It's quite similar to Tempura? Which I don't like. I prefer prawns fried like the ones wrapped in Golden roll(Sushi Tei). More crispy and golden brown, get it? Haha. But I still love the cheese :)

Dragon Maki - $7.99
Did not try this because of the Avocado haha.

Salmon with Mayonnaise & Cavier - $6.29

Maguro Sashimi - $6.29
I cannot comment on the raw food here since I don't eat them, but I think the price's reasonable? :)

Salmon Sashimi - $6.29

Chicken Cheese Yaki - $9.99
MINE!!!!!! THIS IS SO FREAKING YUMMY OMG. Words can't describe how heavenly this dish taste. Japanese mayonnaise, melted cheese(hidden below mayo) and tender juicy chicken.... *MUST TRY* Be warn that they SPAM the mayonnaise hahaha.

Teppanyaki Salmon - $9.99
Hmmm... Not what I expected. Salmon Mentai from Sushi Tei is still DA BEST.

Beef Lunch Set - $15.99

Garlic Fried Rice - $2.70
Part of the lunch set, changed from white rice to garlic fried rice! Fragrant~

Saba Shioyaki & Gyoza Bento - $18.99
The saba was pretty hard?!! Couldn't believe it haha. Gyoza was nice though!

Sushi Tei: Expensive but quality is there for sure. Other than the disappointing scallops and onsen egg, the rest was really delicious! But I have only visited the place twice so I haven't try all the food on the menu yet. Will order different food the next time and share the photos here :)

Sushi Express: Cheap cheap cheap. Quality is aright. Best is to just eat your few favorites rather than trying every single item on the conveyor belt! Remember to count the number of plates you've taken if you're on budget! It's quite addictive to just lift the plates off the belt :)

Sakae Sushi: I love the sushi variety here most! I was quite surprised to see a few of my favorite dishes in the menu, like Cheese Maki, Salmon skin and Chicken Cheese Yaki haha. Sushi Tei and Express don't have these! Price wise, the sushi rolls are definitely cheaper but smaller in size too. I did not order their Salmon Mentai as surprisingly it's more expensive than Sushi Tei!
