Just some thoughts

Work is coming to an end, thought I wouldn't miss it at all but I guessed I was wrong.

Today I was at work as usual and then it suddenly hit me that I won't be at this place working anymore soon. I felt kind of sad. The feeling got worse when my colleagues started to ask me out for lunch treat, reminding me my last day is on Friday and when this lady colleague kept giving me chocolates... I was soooooo looking forward to the end, counting down from weeks ago but now.. how should I say. Hmm I don't exactly dread the end but I don't really welcome it happily too. Of course if given a choice I WOULD NOT extend my Internship hahaha but I just felt a little sad.

I keep comparing school with work, like which do I prefer more haha. Used to dislike school but not anymore since it's my LAST semester already in October. So yeah, currently work and school is on par haha.

But life goes on and YAY my holiday is coming!!! I SMELL FREEDOM LOL. My "schedule" HAHA is packed almost fully for the first few weeks of August, want to do the stuff I wanted to but no time to when I was working and then... it's home alone time haha. So my dear KALIPP and close friends if you happen to read this feel free to ask me out hehe :)

Bachmann Japanese Restaurant X Cedele

If you don't already know, ever since I started Internship I developed this habit of eating "good food" almost every Friday to reward myself for surviving yet another week of work. Anyway my last day of work is on the coming Friday, can't wait!!! Then I'll be having 11 weeks of holiday before the last semester of school officially starts... Currently am still planning on how to spend my holidays but hmm I'll think about that later :)

Sis came to meet me at Raffles City last night for dinner. Been going that place for the past three months but nope, I am still not sick of it because there's simply too many good food places in there :) We walked around and spotted Bachmann Japanese restaurant and their artificial food display looks good haha so we went in. WRONG DECISION MADE.

The food was really not up to standard!! Other than their Gyoza and plain rice, there's no Japanese food feel at all ):

The Fried Chicken Cutlet is soaked and literally drowning in the egg soup... Totally different from what we saw in the artificial food display, which was crispy and yummy looking.

My Ramen... The soup was nothing near fantastic and the Ramen was just plain disappointing, tasted like instant Ramen to me.

Thankfully desserts saved our Friday night! Went Cedele for cakes and oh their Chocolate Truffle cake was SO GOOD.

Chocolate Truffle cake - $6++

Chocolate Banana Espresso cake - $6++
Used to be one of my favourite cakes but not anymore since last night when I had my first bite of Chocolate Truffle!

A pic with Ah gong to end this post :)

Have a great Sunday people!

2 Fridays back

Hi guys!

Just two Fridays back I finally went to the theatres and caught a movie after TWO YEARS!!! I seldom watch movie because I find it a waste of money and would rather watch it online with substandard quality which I don't really mind haha. Anyway, I watched it(Pacific Rim. In case you're wondering, it was awesome) for FREE this time round because my very nice colleague gave me two tickets!! I still remember how happy I was that night, plus it was a Friday! Double happiness ^^

Night view, Marina Bay Sands~

Long John Silver's for supper after movie :)

Can't decide whether should I have Subway or LJS for dinner tomorrow. Seeing this picture(above) makes me crave for their Crazy Potatoes again... But I want to eat healthy ): Argh I will just follow my heart later.

Goodnight and Happy Friday Xx

Dreadful

Trying to not think about the complicating thoughts, troubles & struggles I am facing now. So many things going through my mind and how I wish I could just throw it all to aside and forget about EVERYTHING.

Lack of certainty, it's making me feel damn uncomfortable. It's really getting on my nerves everything I am afraid or unsure.

Mixed up emotions, my heart feels like it's been tied up so tight I can't breathe.

I feel so stress about the current and in what is waiting for me in the future. I don't want to think nor decide what should I do when I am done with this phase of life. I am tired, tired just tired.

I dread the days that is about to arrive, but I look forward to it at the same time. Why can't I just focus and decide on what I want instead of being so fickle-minded all the time.

Just what do I want? Now, in life, in future.

Yomenya Goemon

I love Fridays! Always eating "good food" and do some grocery or rather junk food *laughs* shopping after dinner. A pretty good way to end my Friday night and welcome the weekend!

So I have been whining and literally begging people around me(my poor Mum, Sis and friends in this case) to try Yomenya Goemon with me. I can't possibly go alone right? Hahaha. Awkward and weird. Coincidentally there's an outlet near my workplace, so can you imagine the 'pain' I feel EVERYDAY I walked passed the shop and not able to go in?!! But anyway, I finally tried it yesterday for dinner yipee!

Standard Chartered was having a promotion whereby a set cost $16++. Comes with a drink, miso soup and salad. If you don't know, Yomenya Goemon uses chopsticks for their spaghetti! But I couldn't get used to it so I requested for fork and spoon instead heh.

Screenshots of the menu I got from their website. The prices are not updated!

Sis whatsapp me their menu to tempt me to walk faster because I was late hahaha. The price range is roughly $13.50 - $14.50 (ala-carte). Love the variety they offer!

I ordered their famous Carbonara with Yolk & Bacon! Spaghetti was cooked AL DENTE, IT WAS SO SO SO GOOD. I'm so in love with the chewiness and texture of the Pasta! The sauce was not a lot but it wasn't dry either. Gonna try their Hokkaido Cream Cheese Soup the next time, heard it's really nice!

Sis ordered Pescatora (Seafood with Tomato Sauce). She said it's the second BEST Pasta she has ever eaten, first belonging to some restaurant in RWS.

After dinner, it was time to satisfy Mum's craving for Coffee Club desserts.

Forever ordering my favorite! Gooey Monkey Chocolate Tart :)

Mum love their Muddy Mud Pie ALOT. To me it is just two layers of Ice-cream?? Hahaha.

Think I mentioned this before, my new found favorite CHOCOLATE DELICE. YUMS.

Craving...

* *

I can't wait for Mooncake Festival!! This is so random lol but I LOVE Mooncakes but I can only eat them once a year ): Since now I've earned a bit from Intern, I am going to fill my tummy with more mooncakes this year!

First stop, Haagen Dazs Mooncakes!! Credits to Google :)

Wanted to try this since 2010. Didn't bear to spend the money back then but I am not going to care this time round!!!! I'm so gonna have you in August HAHAHA.

Then after Haagen Dazs I will decide what other Mooncakes to buy hahaha still too early to think now.

Goodnight xx.

Japanese Food

I am so excited to blog this entry!!!! Like the title said, it's about JAPANESE FOOD OM NOM NOM. I was looking through my photo album last night and spotted a lot of Japanese food photos so I decided to consolidate all and make them into a post. Within a span of four weeks, I had Japanese food FIVE times. Is that consider horrible? I think it's alright hahaha. Neglected my all-time favorite food.... PASTA. Now I am craving for some Carbonara. Gonna get my craving fix this Friday!

I suggest you guys not to read this entry with an empty stomach *winks*

Japanese Food: Sushi Tei

Second time eating Sushi Tei :)
I actually ate before when I was younger but I can't remember the taste and all. Blogged about my "first time" at Sushi Tei a few entries back!

Golden roll - $16

Totally love stuffing this whole sushi into my mouth and tasting the different flavors all together. Mango, Prawn, Roe mmmm yums. Though I also love separating all the ingredients and eat them individually haha.  Love how the mango goes so well with the sushi and also the prawn was breaded/fried in the way I like! Not too much flour was used and notice the skin's crispy and golden brown :)

Ika Sugata Teri (Squid with Teriyaki Sauce) - $9
The meat's a bit on the hard side. I feel that it's pretty normal? Not much to expect but it's fine.

Salmon Mentai Yaki - $12
My FAVORITE from Sushi Tei!! *MUST TRY*
From the first time I tried this, I knew that I will be ordering this dish EVERYTIME I visit ST in the future. Love how thick a slice they cut! Very very juicy too yums. It's that good. *Thumbs up*

Remember to squeeze the lemon if you ever order this!

Blurred shot because I was so excited to eat haha.

Salmon Sashimi - $8
I don't eat raw food but from this photo I guess it's very yummy?? My Mum love this and she said the quality's really good!

Tamago Sushi - $2.20
No need to say, the quality is good of course. I can literally taste every grain of rice individually and the seaweed was thin and soft, easy to bite into half for girls who don't stuff the whole sushi into the mouth lol.

Hotate Miso Mayonnaise - $9.80++
Super disappointed in this dish, I feel that it's totally not worth the price. The portion was pretty small for a price like that, the sauce was kinda weird too like some garlic mixed with starch? The $1.50++ scallops from Sushi Express is way nicer than this, hands down the best and cheapest scallops I have ever eaten.

Pork Katsu Curry Rice - $13.50
If you're looking for a dish that won't burn a hole in your wallet, is filling and delicious at the same time then this is the dish you are looking for! Huge and crispy cutlet with a generous amount of curry filled with potatoes and accompanied by Japanese rice, mmmm YUMS!!!! *Thumbs up*

The potatoes are hidden because they are drowning in the huge amount of curry hahaha.

Salmon Sushi with Cavier - $6.90
I randomly named this because I can't remember the exact name hahaha. Can't "judge" this dish because again I don't eat raw food but my Mum really LOVES this. It's the kind of dish where she will order every time we visit Sushi Tei :)

The total bill amount to $78 w/o gst. I think it's worth the price given such good quality and reasonable to huge portion of food, other than the Scallops which totally did not met my expectations.

Japanese Food: Sushi Express

In case you don't know, the pricing for Sushi Express is $1.50++ for ALL plates.
My second time eating Sushi Express, really LOVE the Scallops, Flamed Salmon sushi, Unagi and their Ice-cream balls!!

Nothing much to complain about since the price's already so cheap but just one small little comment, I don't really like the seaweed that is used to wrap the sushi. It's a little hard to chewy or bite into half (For normal sushi like this I don't stuff the entire thing into my mouth).

Tamago sushi was good!

This is the Ice-cream balls I was talking about!!! But when you take the plate, don't consume it immediately as it's still quite frozen and hard inside. Wait awhile and let it melt a little first :)

SCALLOPS *MUST TRY*
Not appealing but SUPER YUMMY scallops. The roe..... omg damn good. It's pretty big in size!

Sorry about the shadow cast from my phone haha.

Blueberry Cheesecake. Try this if you love cakes! Have the Japanese cake feel hahaha.

You will get addicted in taking the plates off the conveyor belt as everything's at $1.50 and there's quite a variety too. But don't expect high quality or very yummy food like those in Sushi Tei!
WITH THE EXCEPTION OF: SCALLOPS, FLAMED SALMON SUSHI, TAMAGO SUSHI, ICE-CREAM BALLS, CHEESECAKE.

Japanese Food: Sakae Sushi

If I am not wrong, this is my FIRST time eating at Sakae Sushi in my life. I guess maybe because my neighborhood shopping mall have Sakae Sushi so I don't bother trying at all since I can eat it anytime I want.

Fried Salmon Skin - $4.29
Dad told me very few Japanese restaurants sell Salmon skin so he immediately ordered this when he saw it on the menu. It's damn crispy!!!! *MUST TRY*

Cheese Maki with Prawn - $4.29
Love the cheese! But I don't like the way the prawn was breaded/fried. It's quite similar to Tempura? Which I don't like. I prefer prawns fried like the ones wrapped in Golden roll(Sushi Tei). More crispy and golden brown, get it? Haha. But I still love the cheese :)

Dragon Maki - $7.99
Did not try this because of the Avocado haha.

Salmon with Mayonnaise & Cavier - $6.29

Maguro Sashimi - $6.29
I cannot comment on the raw food here since I don't eat them, but I think the price's reasonable? :)

Salmon Sashimi - $6.29

Chicken Cheese Yaki - $9.99
MINE!!!!!! THIS IS SO FREAKING YUMMY OMG. Words can't describe how heavenly this dish taste. Japanese mayonnaise, melted cheese(hidden below mayo) and tender juicy chicken.... *MUST TRY* Be warn that they SPAM the mayonnaise hahaha.

Teppanyaki Salmon - $9.99
Hmmm... Not what I expected. Salmon Mentai from Sushi Tei is still DA BEST.

Beef Lunch Set - $15.99

Garlic Fried Rice - $2.70
Part of the lunch set, changed from white rice to garlic fried rice! Fragrant~

Saba Shioyaki & Gyoza Bento - $18.99
The saba was pretty hard?!! Couldn't believe it haha. Gyoza was nice though!

Sushi Tei: Expensive but quality is there for sure. Other than the disappointing scallops and onsen egg, the rest was really delicious! But I have only visited the place twice so I haven't try all the food on the menu yet. Will order different food the next time and share the photos here :)

Sushi Express: Cheap cheap cheap. Quality is aright. Best is to just eat your few favorites rather than trying every single item on the conveyor belt! Remember to count the number of plates you've taken if you're on budget! It's quite addictive to just lift the plates off the belt :)

Sakae Sushi: I love the sushi variety here most! I was quite surprised to see a few of my favorite dishes in the menu, like Cheese Maki, Salmon skin and Chicken Cheese Yaki haha. Sushi Tei and Express don't have these! Price wise, the sushi rolls are definitely cheaper but smaller in size too. I did not order their Salmon Mentai as surprisingly it's more expensive than Sushi Tei!
